Double glazing

On Wednesday, hopefully the double-glazed windows we ordered back in September will be fitted. These are to replace the last 3 original windows in our bungalow, which are of some age. They should make quite a difference in insulation over the old windows.

The webcam I bought early this year packed up. so I have just bought a new one, seems a lot more stable with a steady picture and the autofocus does help lots. Time will tell if it lasts.

English Electric Lightning Model kits.

Some time back a modeller got in touch with me through the Lightning Association Website,  asking if I would like a collection of Lightning Models, either to build, or sell with the objective of adding funds to a Lightning cause.

I don't have the time or inclination to build any of the kits, so have decided to sell them on eBay and donate the money to the Lightning Appreciation Group, of which I am a member.

Well I found out that no one is interested in buying these models, only 3 out of the 17 sold at £15 each. Will have to come up with another way of moving these models on to a deserving cause, possibly the local ATC who could either sell them to raise funds, or else build the models.

Windows 11

Have been trying to upgrade my Windows 10 to Windows 11, spent the best part of the week with no luck. Motherboard and boot system too old. Have been following the advice of an IT expert but to no avail. Windows 10 has another 4 years before Microsoft will not support it any more, this is so annoying and has happened with all Windows systems since inception.

If I did not need a few Windows programs, I would happily move over to Linux, so I am investigating if it is possible to run them on Linux.

Wasted enough time trying to get Windows 11 to install on unsupported PC's and have decided that I will stick with Windows 10, it works for me.

Booster Jab

Yesterday I went up to hospital where I was invited to have my COVID-19 booster jab, it was just as before when I had my first two, conveyor belt of folk. Brilliant nurse this time, never felt anything at all, so did say thank you for that experience. 15 minutes sitting in recovery, just in case of adverse effects. Then a slow walk home in the drizzle kind of weather. A bit of a sore arm this morning, but that is it.

Covid Test

Just been for my Covid-19 swab test. Now self-isolating for 3 days before my hospital appointment on Wednesday. Hope this one is not cancelled.

GUESS WHAT?, THIS APPOINTMENT WAS ALSO CANCELLED. Another 3 days of my life wasted on self isolation from my covid swab.

This appointment was also cancelled, nobody got in touch, so a wasted journey once more. Will have to wait and see when the next appointment is?
